About the Forbidden Frames Project

Forbidden Frames is a global photographic project founded by Yuliya Panchenko, dedicated to reviving and reimagining the lost history of boudoir photography through the timeless beauty of analog film. Our mission is to protect the art of film photography, promote authentic artistic expression, and celebrate the untold stories of intimacy, rebellion, and freedom through the female form.

At the heart of Forbidden Frames is an extraordinary challenge:
100 models, 100 locations, 100 vintage film cameras — 100 years of recreated boudoir history.

Each episode documents Yuliya receiving a vintage camera — often without prior knowledge or preparation — and being tasked to create a single image that captures the spirit of historical boudoir. If she fails, she must step in front of the lens herself, honoring the art form from both sides of the camera.

Forbidden Frames is not just a series — it’s a movement. A rebellion against perfection. A return to soul.

Follow the journey through our upcoming documentary series on BIB TV, Blogs, gallery exhibitions, and the official book release, as we continue to write boudoir history, one forbidden frame at a time.
